I just really like burpees, and all things gymnastics.

While I’ve been coaching group fitness for the past 13 years, the last seven have been my most enjoyable as a CrossFit coach. My fitness journey started young playing high school soccer, which eventually led me into endurance sports such as half marathons, and triathlons; while also coaching group fitness such as boot camp, TRX, kickboxing, and spin classes. But I still wasn’t quite satisfied with my overall fitness and performance. Once I found CrossFit, I knew this was something I could continue long-term, and I’ve been doing it every single day for the past 9 years.
The turning point for me was falling in love with a healthy lifestyle, and actually enjoying working out. I grew up in Oklahoma, and while our meals were at the dinner table together, they weren’t exactly what you would call “healthy”. In my 20’s I started learning what it meant to fuel my body with the right foods, and actually feel good every single day. Once I had that knowledge I never wanted to go back to the old mindset I once had. I wake up with intention every day, and knowing what I put in my body is important. I’m raising 4 kids so knowing that I need to lead by example is really important to me.
Since I’ve been coaching for 7 years, I’ve seen all kinds of athletes walk through the doors of CrossFit. And nothing brings me more joy that seeing someone fall in love with the sport as much as I have. But probably my most enjoyable moments are when a busy mom, much like me, finds how strong and capable they actually are. While parenthood can feel like an endurance sport at times, if you put your health and fitness as a priority as well, you will be more equipped, and have more energy to tackle life; and the challenges that come with parenting.
